தோட்டக்காரர்   [ 61 ]

&

அமைதி கொள் , என் இதயமே ,

பிரியும் வேளை இனிதாய் இருக்கட்டும் .

 

அது ஒரு மரணம் என்றாக வேண்டாம்

ஆனால் முழுமையானதாகட்டும் .

 

காதல் நினைவுள்ளும்

வலி பாடல்களுள்ளும் உருகட்டும் .

 

வானில் பறத்தல் ஆனது

கூட்டில் இறக்கைகள் மூடலில் முடியட்டும் .

 

உனது கரங்களின் இறுதித் தொடுதல்

இரவு மலரினைப்போல் மென்மையாகட்டும் .

 

ஓ..அழகிய முடிவே,

ஓர் நொடி சலனமற்று நில் ;

பின் மௌனத்தில்

உனது கடைசி மொழிகள் சொல்.

 

உனக்குத் தலை வணங்குகிறேன் ;

உன் பாதைக்கு ஒளி ஊட்ட

என் விளக்கினை உயர்த்திப் பிடிக்கிறேன் .

PEACE ,my heart , let the time for the parting be sweet .

 

let it not be a death but completeness.

 

let love melt into memory and pain into songs .

 

let the flight through the sky end in the folding of the wings

over the nest .

 

let the last touch of your hands be gentle like the flower of the night .

 

stand still . o beautiful end , for a moment,

and say your last words  in silence .

 

I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way .
